Western Kettlebell Training
Kettlebell training has been around for centuries in Russia, yet it is still in it’s infancy in many countries now adopting this tough, raw yet innovative piece of training equipment.
Such athletes as Lance Armstrong now incorporate KB training into their regime such is the increasing popularity and obvious fitness improvements that come from training with Kettlebells.
The key to getting the most out of any KB workout is to ensure you have safe and correct technique, some of which can take years to master and only under good supervision can this be achieved. You constantly need someone to coach and train you to spot weaknesses in technique and make the correct adjustments. This may mean small muscle adaptations or parts of your technique needing attention, thus enabling correct performance of the exercise in question. Pavel DVD’s will really help, but most of all going to an experienced KB trainer can make all the difference.
I often see Personal Trainers demonstrating exercises incorrectly which will only lead to their client(s) then carrying out poor technique and risking inevitable injury or joint soreness. Ask your trainer how long they have honestly been training with Kettlebells and where they were taught to use kettlebells!
At the end of the day, who you choose to train with is your choice, just makesure it’s the right one.
